Today is the 4th anniversary of the In a Vase on Monday meme hosted by Cathy at Rambling in the Garden
This week to mark the occasion, Cathy has challenged fellow bloggers to put their blooms in something other than a vase. This single stem – the last of the gladioli I bought at the Chelsea Flower Show – was crying out for a milk bottle, which I have placed in our usual milk bottle holder – the Little Weeds drink a lot of the white stuff!
This is amazing….I love the milk bottle and use one myself from time to time and the holder really adds to the display. And to have a glad still blooming is amazing. Very cold here already.

Thanks Donna I went for simplicity this time but looking at all the wonderful In a Vase on Monday posts am inspired to try a bigger arrangement next time.

Simple is just as pleasing, Ciar, but in a different way – and your single gladiolus is such a beautiful colour, but flowering in November…?! Thanks for joining in today

Thank you Cathy – I think because I planted the gladioli late they have flowered late.

A gladioli in November certainly deserves its own vase! 🙂 Do you still get milk deliveries where you live?

Yes – thank goodness as my kids drink the stuff like water!

What a pretty gladiola! I can only vaguely remember when mil men still made deliveries to the door. I’m not sure when that tradition died in Southern California but it was long ago and this post leaves me feeling just a bit nostalgic.

Thank you. I love our milk deliveries – and our milkman has always been by the time we get up!

A lovely shade of purple. Amazing that you still have milk deliveries. It’s been 50 years since those days around here.

Thank you Eliza – the responses to this post have made me realise how lucky we are to have milk deliveries. I just took it for granted!

Such a lovely glad – and a treat in November as well! Have you put it out for the milkman?
