Not in a vase but in a tiny cup on Monday this week.
At the weekend we took the Little Weeds to The Making of Harry Potter studio tour – a very belated birthday treat for Middle Weed. Seeing all the beautifully intricate set designs and props for the films has reignited my mild Harry Potter obsession, so for this week’s IAVOM I have chosen a mini-cup which Middle Weed was given as a present at her Harry Potter-themed birthday party last summer and filled it with a handful of herbs which I hope would make potions master Professor Snape proud.
There is a sprig of rosemary, a pinch of thyme, the blackened seedheads of last year’s golden oregano (new shoots are already coming through) and three wands of winter jasmine for good measure. As a prop I have chosen the hardback edition of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone illustrated by Jim Kay.

Oh what a fun idea – I love the idea of the herbs and the wands. I am glad your recent visit was a success and thanks for allowing us a sneaky glimpse in your mirror too!

Fun to create a themed vase, isn’t it? Happy Birthday to the HP fan.

Inspired and you get double the pleasure with the mirror. My children used to make potions in the garden then leave them until they smelt vile and I had to tip them out with a peg on my nose.

You carried your theme through the arrangement – and the post – well! The placement in front of the mirror was also inspired.
