I was thoroughly chuffed last week to be named as a finalist at the Garden Media Guild Awards 2018 in the Blog/ Vlog of the Year Category. It was a huge honour to be in the company of some wonderful bloggers several of whom I got to meet in person at the swanky awards lunch at the Savoy Hotel.
The well-deserved winner in this category was Caro Shrives from The Urban Veg Patch and my fellow finalists included Nic Wilson from Dogwood Days, Matt Peskett from Grow Like Grandad (who does a great line in celebrity dog imitations) and Richard Chivers from Sharpen Your Spades.
It was really great to meet gardening hacks old and new and inspired me to think of new directions for the blog in 2019. The day was only marred by train disruption on the way home to East Sussex – we had to change trains and platforms three times and somewhere along the way I mislaid my GMG goody bag. (The fact that I had drunk several glasses of wine had nothing whatsoever to do with it!) Thank you GMG for a wonderful day out!
Congratulations! A well-earned nomination. Sounds like a fun evening.

Wow, really great stuff & how SO exciting for you! Hope you had a great time meeting other bloggers, the food was good, & the drink was plenty! Will we see the awards in your next SoS?
